Channel
Telegram has over 900 million monthly active users. For developer communities, crypto projects, and international SaaS products, it is the primary community and support channel. The Bot API is one of the most capable messaging bot interfaces available, inline keyboards, payments, group admin controls, file delivery, and building AI on top of it opens up use cases that are simply not possible on more restricted platforms.
Unlike WhatsApp, Telegram has no approval queue for bot deployment. You can go from development to a live bot in days, not weeks. There is no 24-hour message window. Bots can be added to groups, channels, and private conversations. For teams that need to move quickly and serve a technically sophisticated audience, Telegram is often the fastest path to a working AI agent.
We build Telegram bots for three primary use cases: community management and support, alerting and notification pipelines, and payment-enabled digital product delivery. Each requires different architecture, and we scope accordingly.
Tell us what you're building.
Four types of Telegram AI bot, from community-scale support to payment-enabled digital delivery.
Members and customers ask questions in direct messages or a support group. The bot searches your indexed documentation, changelog, or knowledge base and returns accurate, cited answers, reducing the support load on your team without making users feel like they are talking to a generic FAQ page.
Automated moderation for Telegram groups and channels: spam detection, welcome messages, anti-raid protection, and rule enforcement. Large Telegram communities (crypto projects, developer communities, regional groups) generate too many messages for human moderation alone.
Route events from your systems (monitoring alerts, deployment status, new orders, support escalations) to the right Telegram group or direct message. Intelligent filtering prevents alert fatigue by classifying severity and suppressing noise outside of business hours or below a defined threshold.
Telegram has a built-in payments API that allows bots to accept payments via Stripe, Yoomoney, and other providers without leaving the Telegram interface. We build purchase flows, digital product delivery, and subscription management directly inside Telegram for communities and creators who sell to Telegram-native audiences.
Specific workflows teams have built with a custom Telegram bot.
A Telegram community of 50,000 members generates hundreds of questions per day. The bot answers protocol questions from documentation, surfaces the latest announcements, and filters out scam messages and impersonators, all without any moderator action on routine queries.
For SaaS products with significant user bases in Eastern Europe, MENA, or Southeast Asia, Telegram is often the preferred support channel. A bot handles tier-1 support, creates tickets for complex issues, and routes them to the correct regional support queue.
Deployment status, error rate spikes, and uptime alerts go to a dedicated Telegram group. Engineers on call get a formatted summary of what failed, which service, and the relevant log excerpt, not a raw JSON blob. High-severity alerts page the full team; low-severity ones are batched into a digest.
A creator builds a Telegram bot that accepts payment for a digital product or course, delivers the content immediately after payment confirmation, and manages access control for a private channel. The whole transaction happens inside Telegram.
Telegram is not the right channel for every business. We say so when it is not.
Businesses where Telegram is not a significant customer channel
Telegram has strong penetration in Eastern Europe, MENA, Southeast Asia, and global developer and crypto communities. If your customer base does not use Telegram as a communication channel, building on it makes little sense regardless of the technical quality of the bot. We will tell you honestly if another channel is a better fit.
Teams who need enterprise compliance controls
Telegram does not offer the enterprise data residency, eDiscovery, or compliance controls required by regulated industries in most jurisdictions. If your team needs conversation archiving for compliance, message retention policies, or admin-enforced data handling, Slack with the Business+ or Enterprise Grid tier, or Microsoft Teams, is more appropriate.
